Flash so for most casual Shooters just Taking photos you will be just fine and Low light probably won't be an issue However if you find yourself wanting to Shoot video and lowl light Canon does Have some pretty good RF lenses the most Affordable RF lens that's also really Fast is the Canon RF 50 mm which is only About $150 to $200 and has a really wide Aperture if you're looking for a low Light lens for casual everyday shooting That's a great one to pick up now let's Talk about the photos and videos Actually coming from these two cameras Because this is where you will see the Biggest difference I have a sneaky Suspicion most of you guys are photo Shooters now both cameras have a 24 Megapixel apsc size sensor so at the Base level you're going to get very Similar quality when it comes to photos From these cameras but because the Processing between these two cameras is So different it's going to affect how Fast you can shoot with these cameras And for how long the Canon r100 shoots At 6.5 frames per second at 24 Megapixels which is perfect for casual Shooters where you're just taking casual Photos throughout your day maybe a party Here or there just everyday lifestyle Stuff and what's cool about the r100 is You can even shoot up to a th000 jpegs In a row before your camera needs a
Break so you can pretty much just hold Down the shutter let it rip and you will Not miss your shots but one thing you Should know know is that it's only Shooting jpegs in this mode and if you Want to shoot Raw photos which are meant For editing and creating something Artistic you can only shoot six photos In a row so at 6.5 frames per second You're really just getting about a Second of shooting so if you plan on Shooting this camera in raw photo mode This is a camera you really need to slow Down and take your time with when taking Your photos the Canon R50 can shoot way Faster than the r100 at anywhere between 12 to 15 frames per second which is fast Enough for most sports and action shots And it's pretty much impossible to miss Your photos with this camera and in this Mode you can even shoot between 28 to 42 Jpegs in a row depending on what speed You're shooting at but if you shoot a Little bit slower on your Canon R50 at 6.5 frames per second just like the R1 100 you can still take a 100 jpegs in a Row but the surprising thing is that When it comes to shooting raw the Canon R50 only shoots at 7 frames per second In raw mode which is only one frame Faster than the Canon R50 so if you're Someone that wants to use this as a raw Camera there's really not too big of a Power difference between these two
Cameras and either way you're going to Have to slow down and use this camera Mainly as a singleframe camera next up Let's talk about video because this is The part that I personally am most Excited about the Canon R50 is a beast Of a video camera especially when you Consider the price point and how small This camera is it shoots 4K at 24 and 30 Frames per second but the 4K is also Down sampled from 6K this is because the Camera takes the entire 6K 24 megapixel Image area and uses all the megapixels Doesn't throw any of the data away and Squeezes that 6K video data down into a Smaller more manageable easier to edit 4K video file and this is a really Impressive feature to see in a camera Like this the r100 also shoots 4K but It's really not that great for a few Reasons one in 4k mode it actually crops Into your sensor which zooms into your Image so it's hard to get a wider field Of view or get a wide shot with this Camera in 4k mode and you're already Working with a smaller apsc size sensor And the 4K in the r100 also has a lot of Wobbly and Jello-O effect that everyone Hates and the r100 when it comes to 4K Is really best for steady and stable Shots but where the r100 really shines Is when you're shooting in full HD mode Both cameras can shoot full HD up to 24 30 and 60 frames per second for two
Times slow motion with a dedicated slow Motion mode where you can shoot up to 120 frames per second for five times Slow motion and I love 120 frames per Second it just makes everything look Epic now something to consider if you Plan on editing the videos that are Coming from your camera whether it's for Vlogs social media or if you want to Make something artistic something that's Really important is what kind of picture Profile you're shooting in and what your Color depth is the Canon R50 can shoot In hdrp Q mode with 10bit color which is Going to give you way more more Flexibility over your light values and Color which is going to allow you to Make something cinematic make your Videos pop or just simply look Professional if you're planning on doing Anything even remotely serious the Canon R50 is going to give you dramatically Better results because the Canon r100 is Only an 8bit camera without any sort of Flat profile or hdrp Q mode so whatever You get in camera is pretty much what You're stuck with but that doesn't make The r100 a bad camera if you're someone That's just cas ually shooting everyday Things and you really don't care and you Just want to take something share it With your friends the r100 is absolutely Worth the amount of money that you will Save so who is the Canon R50 for and who
Is the Canon R 100 for well it comes Down to a few factors that all really Come down to your shooting style the R100 is obviously a much more barebones Camera where the R50 has much better Quality of life features but it also Does cost a lot more so you have to ask Yourself do I care that much about this Camera do am I that serious about my Photography and video or do I just want A casual camera that's as cheap as Possible that's just going to give me Pretty images and I'm going to move on With my life however when it comes to Quality this is a really important Subject because the two cameras are very Very different if you're shooting photos In single photo mode the two cameras are Virtually the same you really won't see Much of a quality difference and they Also shoot Raw photos in a pretty Similar fashion however if you're doing Continuous shooting where you're Shooting something that's fast like Sports Action your ADHD dog chances are You're going to want the Canon R50 Because it's going to be able to shoot For longer and faster however this is Only in jpeg mode now the R50 does have Faster autofocusing but you're only Going to notice it if you're doing Continuous shooting and if you're a Singleframe shooter like me you're going To be just fine with the R1 100's
Autofocusing system however when it Comes to video it's a whole different Story I wouldn't want even my worst Enemy to pick up the r100 for video Outside of casual video clips where you Really don't care about them if you care About your video at all the R50 is the Only real choice because it's a proper Video camera it's going to give you hdrp Q mode in 10bit color and it's going to Give you proper 4K that's also down Sampled from 6K so if you care about Your video at all the R50 is the obvious Choice but the r100 is much cheaper and If you're someone that's not doing Anything too serious maybe you're Beginner that's just doing single frame Photography you just want to practice or Maybe just a couple of casual Clips the R100 is very much worth the amount of Money you save and with the money you Save you can buy better lenses a better Flash a better tripod the R50 is a Better camera for someone who's serious About their photography that really Cares about their video and while it is More expensive it is very much worth the Money but regardless of which camera you Get you want to make sure you get the Best possible pricing and for that you Want to head down to the links down Below for the best possible pricing and I will see you guys in the next video Peace
