Out the links down below so in terms of The body and design it actually does not Have the same body as the zv1 Mark 1 it Actually has the same body from the zv1f Which is the budget vlogging camera from Sony but it still feels like a very Solid body in your hands it's well made And I've actually already dropped this Camera but it held up just fine with Very minor scuffs so unofficial drop Test everything else on the camera is Exactly like every other zv1 camera it Has a three array microphone at the top Which sounds great but will do an audio Test for it later and it has a power Button a mode button to switch between Photo video and slow motion a zoom Rocker and a separate button for video Record and photo shutter and the Buns on Their back are very minimal it's a very Easy camera to use and it also has a Defocus button at the top which gives You a shallow depth of field effect with Just one click one thing that you may Not realize is that the battery life in The zv1 Mark II is really short again It's a point and shoot camera and that's Pretty typical however I was really Impressed by how fast it charged the Battery back to full I was able to plug It in and get a full charge in about 20 To 25 minutes but I still recommend Having spare batteries also a must-have Accessory for the zv1 Mark II is the
Sony vlogging handle not only does it Work as a vlogging handle but you can Also use it as a small tripod to sit Your camera down anywhere and start Recording and because it only uses Bluetooth you can also use it as a Wireless remote and on the handle you Have a zoom rocker two separate record Buttons and a custom button to set to Whatever you like and one thing in this Camera that I wish other zv cameras had Is that it also has a neutral density Filter this way you can shoot with your Aperture wide open on sunny days and Still get a shallow depth of field Without having to stop down or Compromise your shutter speed and of Course it has a flip out screen which is A must-have for vloggers but a really Exciting thing is that this back screen Is now 100 touch sensitive for touch Autofocus and even activating your menus But it also has a new quick menu on the Back screen that is specifically made to Access some of the newer features in This camera which I'll mention later but Sony did make one major design change to This camera and that is the lens it has A brand new 18 to 50 millimeter lens With a variable aperture between 1.8 and F4 it's 1.8 on the wide 18 millimeter Side and f4 on the telephoto side but The old lens was actually much better in Low light because it had a wide aperture
At every focal length and I personally Really like the ability to zoom as far As 70 millimeters on a point and shoot Camera the new lens still looks great in Terms of like image quality but it's not As good in low light unless you're Shooting a wide shot and you really Don't get as much of a telephotoside now The main reason that Sony made this Change is because a lot of vloggers and Content creators kept asking for a wider Lens and they felt 24 millimeters was Not wide enough but but let's see if it Actually makes a difference so this is What the camera looks like at 24 Millimeters and this is what it looks Like at 18 millimeters it definitely Makes a pretty significant difference And this is way better for vlogging but As someone that will probably use this Camera for more than just Vlogs I would Have preferred the 70 millimeter with a Variable aperture of 1.8 to F 2.8 I like The old lens better what do you guys Think but what I'm really interested in Is seeing the new tech and recording Modes inside the zv1 Mark II inside the Zv1 Mark II you'll find a 20 megapixel 1 Inch sensor which is pretty much the Same sensor as the previous camera so There shouldn't be a massive quality Difference and it shoots 4K at 24 and 30 Frames per second and this is what the Zv1 Mark II actually looks like at 4K at
18 millimeters with an fsoft of 2.8 I Still get a pretty nice blurry Background effect the colors look great The video quality is crisp and this is What the zv1 Mark II sounds like with The internal microphone I I know for a Fact that the internal microphone is Actually really good and while it may Not be perfect a lot of people don't Need an external microphone to record Off the go content because the internal Audio is so good the main thing that Impresses me about this camera are Actually the colors Sony's not really Known for their colors but wow my skin Tone looks good the colors look nice and Saturated this is exactly what I would Want my vlogging camera to look like However there is one problem Sony did Not put 10-bit color in this camera this Camera is only 8-bit and while vloggers May not really care because you know This camera looks great I think for more Serious content creators that want to Have a cinematic look in their photos And videos they will definitely want 10 Big color and with newer cameras coming Out that all have 10 big color this Camera feels a little left behind However I think Sony realized this and They actually put a mode in this camera Specifically for people who want a Cinematic look and this is the Cinematic Vlog mode as you can see there's black
Bars at the top and bottom which give You a cinema asset ratio and it Definitely helps to keep a wide shot on The 18 millimeter side because otherwise At 24 this would probably feel too close Up but what I really like about this are The new color profiles that this mode Comes with comes with a bunch of Different cinematic color profiles that Actually look really really good and on Top of that you also have color filters To take that cinematic look even further But I do think this mode has a few Problems mainly the black bars I do not Think most vloggers will want to present Their content on YouTube like this Because YouTube just doesn't work with The black bars this is a great mode for Beginners and people who just want a Cinematic look on the go with like a Couple of clicks but this is not for Vloggers there's no way to get rid of These black bars however there are Creative looks built into this camera That give you a cool look without the Black bars but those creative looks do Not look nearly as good as the Cinematic Looks inside of cinematic Vlog mode and One feature that's really important for Content creators is slow motion and the Sony zv1 Mark II actually Records full HD at 60 and 120 frames per second in Terms of frame rates there's really Nothing more that I could possibly want
From this camera at this price point all Right now I know autofocus isn't the Most glamorous thing in the world to Talk about but for a camera like the zv1 Mark II autofocus is essential as a Vlogger you want to make sure you are Always in focus and as a Creator you Want to have as little barriers as Possible between you and getting your Perfect shot so with the zv1 Mark II it Actually has an updated Auto focusing System but also new hardware it has a Brand new dram chip directly on the Sensor itself which gives you faster Processing for autofocus making it Ultra Sharp Ultra reliable and really fast I Can go in out in out and the autofocus Just absolutely keeps up and with the Dram chip it also does a really good job Now tracking moving subjects like cars Animals whatever else and I don't also Has subject detect for both animals and People so the camera knows exactly what You're looking at and it's just tracking Animal or people and a really useful Autofocus mode that's actually on all of The zv cameras is a product showcase if You're someone that reviews products Like me you can simply hold a product up To the camera it will snap to focus and Then back to your face snap to focus and Back to your face and this still gives You all of the normal autofocusing Features while you're in this mode so
You're not really losing anything by Using this mode now I know the zv1 Mark II is mainly supposed to be a vlogging Camera but if you're a content creator You're definitely going to want to take Some photos and the zv1 Mark II actually Takes some incredible photos at 24 Frames per second which is as fast as Video without any blackout frames and it Also shoots in 14 mil raw so you have a Ton of room to edit your photos later on If you want to and this actually makes For a great YouTube thumbnail camera and Along with the brand new auto focusing System you will never ever ever have out Of focus shots ever again and low-key This actually might might make a great Street photography camera now it's not Quite as good as like a popular Ricoh Gr3 but considering the small size in The super fast autofocusing system it's Definitely a contender although it does Have a smaller sensor than the Ricoh gr3 So did Sony finally make the perfect Point-and-shoot camera for vloggers and Content creator the lens is definitely a Big Improvement in this camera vloggers Will definitely appreciate the wider 18 Millimeter side of the lens and for People that are just casual Shooters and Maybe don't want a wider lens I think The zv1 Mark 1 in terms of the lens will Be a better choice but again it's an Older camera so the tech is a little bit
Lower but one thing that I love in the Zv1 Mark II is a cinematic Vlog mode Even though it's not for vloggers but I Think it's a great asset to content Creators people that want to make Something look cinematic or even casual Shooters that want to get a cool Cinematic look in their camera with just A few clicks and I know autofocus isn't Super glamorous but I cannot understate How much better the autofocus is in this Camera it is absolutely set it and Forget it so for people who want a point And shoot something small like this that You can keep in your pocket this camera Actually is perfect however if you're a Content creator that has more of a Production to your content maybe you Don't need something this small and Maybe you're not doing a lot of vlogging The Sony zv1 is probably not the right Fit because for about the same price you Can get two cameras that are far far Better one of them is the Sony zve E10 It has a bigger sensor but also an Interchangeable lens mount giving you More options when it comes to shooting And overall the quality will be better Because it has a larger sensor however The zv10 is only an 8-bit color and it Does not have cinematic Vlog mode Another camera that I would recommend is The Canon R50 it does have 10 bit color But it was also designed for Content
Creators and vloggers it's still a Pretty small camera but bigger than the Zv1 but what I really love about it is The fact that it actually has 4K that is Down sampled from 6K so you get a really Sharp image very good Clarity plus 10 Bitcoin you can really create a Cinematic look with your videos if you Want to and it also has intelligent Shooting modes for food portrait and Nighttime basically anything and the Camera just automatically sets the Camera up for that shooting scenario so As a point and shoot camera for Content Creators and vloggers the zv1 is Actually perfect I have no issues with This camera I do wish it had 10 by color But for the audience this camera is Meant for you guys probably won't really Care about that spec but if you do need 10 bit color the R50 is a much better Choice if you just have an overall Bigger production the Sony zv10 is also A great choice and if you want to make Sure you get the best pricing on these Cameras make sure to check out the links In the description down below and I will See you guys in the next video peace
