Landscape Photography Tour #4: Mwnt, Wales

[Music] [Applause] Welcome To mint my name's christopher frost and I've been taking pictures of this Tunneling plot of land for many years Now as i live only 10 minutes away from It And i used to minister at the famous Church of the cross here It is considered one of the most Beautiful beaches in the whole of Europe and it attracts large number of Tourists Holidaymakers and photographers from all Over the world So here's a quick tour of this beach That seems almost designed for Any and all kinds of wide-angle Photography although you might be able To spot a dolphin or two in the bay With a longer lens if you're lucky three Key areas Make this sandy little bay a dream come True For photographers firstly there is of Course the church Which is a medieval sailors chapel of Ease Dating back to the 14th century it is Tunningly beautiful Services are held here in july and August the only months when it's really Warm enough

Although people want to get married here Throughout the year No matter what the weather is like and i Had the privilege of marrying at least Two couples here as a curet we once had A couple from Germany who flew in regularly in order To build up a worship connection to the Church In order to get married there on a sunny Day it's a beautiful place to photograph Especially with a very wide angle lens And a polarizing filter Although it can look beautiful in the Night time too Every christmas eve there's a late night Service here which is always Jam-packed with people the area around The church Is populated by sheep who come and go All over the place So do be careful while you're driving They are especially happy to hang out in A church yard Helping to keep the grass cut nicely This is one of my favorite pictures i've Ever taken I shot it manual focus at f 0.95 And miraculously my subject came out Sharp The second beautiful area here is of Course the beach Which is really popular with visitors All year round except the winter when it

Gets a little dark and Cold as i mentioned in the summer months Dolphins can occasionally be spotted Playing in the bay The sea is absolutely gorgeous on a Sunny day but you must be very careful About Climbing the rocks surrounding it as People have died that way The pathway down runs parallel to a Little stream with water flowing all Over the place and it has a little History This beach was invaded by the flemish in 1155 But the attack was repulsed by the Locals which is regularly remembered As silk mont on the first sunday of January Or red sunday in munt finally there is The munt itself A steep conical hill easy to climb if You take care Which offers gorgeous views of the Entire bay the church And the coastline up and down there are Plenty of interesting flowers and Foliage growing there And photographic opportunities can be Snuffled all over the place A wonderful time to come to mundt is in The late evening In summer with a wide-angle lens the sun Sets beautifully over the sea

Generally though i avoid coming here During the evening and other times of The year As the shadows cover quite a lot and i Prefer the way the light hits the church In the morning And afternoon by the way if you wish to Fly a drone around mint Then you will need official permission From the local airfield in Abba porth otherwise it is unlawful to Do so If you are anywhere nearby in wales and You're into photography You would be a fool not to visit mint You could easily spend a whole afternoon Here Relaxing and taking it all in see you Next time soon For another landscape photography tour
