[Music] Greetings everyone I recently had the Pleasure of testing out the new Sigma 60 To 600 millimeter dgdn Sports lens for Mirrorless full-frame cameras L Mount or Sony e-mount and it's a monstrous piece Of awesome IMHO I loved putting it Through its Paces but I didn't Anticipate how many people in the Comments section would want me to Compare it to its peers it's slightly Older 150 to 600 millimeter Sigma Brother and the Sony 200 to 600. that's The sound of me slapping my own wrist With a ruler so here's a quick Comparison video for the three lenses For you taking a brief look at their Different parameters followed by their Image quality I'm not going to cover Absolutely everything in this video just The main things but if you'd like to Watch the full reviews there are links In the description below the first thing You'll notice is the difference in price Of the sigma 150 to 600 it's an Excellent lens like the other two but For 500 less sometimes even more in the Sale the biggest difference between the Three lenses after that is of course Their Zoom ranges do not underestimate The value of having a wide Zoom range Here even if you're buying the lens to Mostly shoot at 600 millimeter it's Really useful to be able to zoom out to
Look around for your subject first and Then of course to zoom in and catch it And also there are lots of situations Where getting a wider angle without Having to change lenses can be extremely Useful too so in that sense the sigma 60 To 600 lens really does have a big Advantage over the other two there's Virtually no practical difference Between the maximum apertures of each of These three lenses in real world usage Their maximum matches are all a little Dark but then again of course that helps To keep down their size weight and cost I really liked the handling of all three Of these lenses they all weigh just over Two kilograms although the new Sigma 60 To 600 is noticeably more cumbersome to Hold at two and a half kilograms that Does make sense though if you think About it it has a lot more glass inside For its Optics to cope with that 10 Times Zoom range but a nice feature of The Sony lens is that it's a little Thinner with a slightly smaller 95 Millimeter filter thread and it has Internal zooming which will help with Weather sealing too also its white color Will make it better able to deflect any Heat related problems if you're shooting In hot conditions you know I'd love to See a white Sigma lens One Day by the Way now I come to think about it that Would look cool anyway when it comes to
Their Electronics all three lenses have Fast and reliable autofocus although I Did find that the sigma 150 to 600 was Just a little bit slower than the other Two none of the lenses show any sign of Any serious Focus breathing which is Always a relief to see when it comes to Image stabilization in my experience They also perform similarly although I Thought the sigma 60-600 was a little Better than the other two and the sigma 150 to 600 a little more shaky Sigma Really up to their game when it came to The electronics in the new 60 to 600 Millimeter lens it's pretty much top of The line overall I preferred the Metallic feel and internal zooming of The Sony lens although the autofocus and Image stabilization of the sigma 60 to 600 were probably the best of all three Although it's extra weight can be a bit Of the pain overall though all three of Them handle pretty nicely let's move on Then and look at image quality now I'll Be testing all three of them on a Sony A7r III with its full frame 42 megapixel Sensor in-camera Corrections are turned On for all three lenses please forgive My use of a slightly different test Chart for the 60 to 600 millimeter lens Here by the way I upgraded recently the Sigma 60 to 600 lens is nice and sharp At its widest angle of 60 millimeter you Can take my word of it so let's start
The two Sigma lenses at 150 millimeter And the Sony at 200 millimeter right Away you can see that the Sony lens is Actually the softest of the three in the Middle of your images surprisingly with A touch of color finishing on Contrasting edges here in terms of Corner image quality again the Sony lens Lags just a little behind the two Sigma Lenses stop the lenses down to f8 though And they all look about as sharp as each Other here are some test results from About the middle of each lenses Zoom Range now now all three of them look Fantastic in the middle of their images Straight from their maximum apertures And their Corner image quality all looks Very good too although the sigma 150 to 600 sees a little color fringing stop Down to f8 and the quality of each one Is truly fantastic from corner to corner Finally let's Zoom all the way into 600 Millimeter all three look very sharp in The middle of their images now and at Their widest apertures although the Sigma 150 to 600 sees some color Fringing on contrasting edges Unfortunately let's take a look in those Image Corners now it's the sigma 60 to 600's turn to show a little comparative Weakness with slightly softer Corners Than the other two stop down to f8 and It improves but still lags behind the Other two just a little interesting
Overall well all three of them have Consistently very good image quality Here but also little weaknesses at Various points the Sony lens for example Was the weakest of the three at widest Angle of 200 millimeter halfway through The zoom range and at the end the sigma 150 to 600 struggles a little with color Fringing at its widest apertures and the New Sigma 60 to 600 doesn't have the Sharpest image Corners at 600 millimeter My favorite to the three there is Probably that Sigma 60 to 600 though you Will rarely need Super sharp image Corners at 600 millimeter because that's More the realm of subject photography Where your Corners will be able to focus Normally anyway but honestly all three Lenses are putting in nice performances Here let's see the differences in Close-up image quality now all three Lenses have a very impressive macro Capability here when a shot at their Optimal focal lengths for close Magnification although the new Sigma 60 To 600 can get just a little closer than The others and the Sony lens only a Little further away the Sony lens looks The sharpest when shooting close up Though but bear in mind in order to get There you have to zoom all the way into 600 millimeter on it which does make Macro for dog V harder to do stop down To f8 and all three lenses look about as
Sharp as each other close-up each of the Three lenses work similarly well against Bright light all holding on to their Contrast really nicely and only Struggling with a touch of flowering Here and there All three of them also have nice soft Looking bokeh with no notable or Distracting problems in their out-ofocus Backgrounds overall well these three Lenses each have their respective Customers quite nicely that's handy Those looking for good value for money Will be more than happy with this Sigma 150 to 600 it's a beautiful lens and It's not too heavy although because of Its light issues with color fringing I Probably wouldn't use it on an aps-c Camera where that Optical problem might Be somewhat magnified the nicest Handling lens I thought with the best Build quality was the Sony although its Optical performance isn't so great at Wider angles and its image stabilization Not quite as good as the new Sigma 60 to 600 and to be honest that new Sigma lens Was actually my favorite its picture Quality is fantastically consistent Especially considering it's got such a Long Zoom range and I personally really Appreciated having access to that wider Angle of 60 millimeter even if I was Mostly shooting when zoomed in the key Takeaway here though is that all
Freelancers really do perform quite Similarly so feel free to make your Choice here based on preferred Zoom Range or Price or build quality if you Want to
